Rockway's vineyards are located on premium grape growing land in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation. Famous for its mineral-rich soils similar to that of Burgundy France, our vineyard site is a hidden gem that continues to amaze us with wines of depth and complexity. We currently have 75 acres under vine with another 75 acres open for planting.

Our Winery

Our winery was built for the sole purpose of making premium wine. It houses state of the art equipment to ensure a sanitary and controlled environment for our wines. We also house a mixture of French and American oak barrels ranging in age, forests and cooperages. Although our winery was not built to accommodate public tours, we conduct one-of-a-kind tours through our antique wine museum, where guests can look into the history of winemaking from the 17th and 18th centuries. Our retail store is right next door so please join us for a tasting and find your favourite wine!

David Stasiuk

Born and raised in Mississauga Ontario, David’s passion for wine matured during his studies in the Food & Beverage industry. His enthusiasm for people made his years in the service industry successful, however, he soon realized his calling. In 2009, David graduated with Honors in Winery & Viticulture at Niagara College. During his study he apprenticed at Le Clos Jordanne, crafting world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Shortly after he ventured west to BC’s Okanagan Valley. At Sumac Ridge he made both sparkling and still wines. Immediately following, David’s desire to work abroad landed him in Australia, in the beautiful cool-climate of the Yarra Valley. There, he gained extensive knowledge at Moet’s Chandon winery. With no time to waste, he worked back-to-back vintages, the latter being in Marlborough, New Zealand, at Villa Maria Estate. David then returned to the Okanagan. He values the mentorship received there from the team at Cedar Creek Estate. In December of 2010 David was thrilled to accept the position as Head Winemaker for Rockway Vineyards. His passion for winemaking is noticed in every bottle he crafts. He takes a minimalist approach to winemaking, letting each wine and each vintage speak for themselves. His style can be described as a balance of Old World techniques and New World technology. He looks forward to crafting premium wines that our vineyards are acclaimed for. As for the dog, “Guinness is a 2 year old English Springer Spaniel. Focused on his birding instincts, Guinness also works for Rockway, protecting our vineyards from pesky birds and other grape thieving animals. Guinness also loves wine!

Our Wines

Most important to mention is that we grow, craft and bottle 99.9% of all the wines we produce. This allows us to carefully monitor every step from our vines to your glass. We believe in the adage that 'less is more.' With a hands-off approach to winemaking, our goal is to capture the flavours of our vineyard and help guide them into your glass. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do!
